A visit to Lilly’s Dim Sum will be an Asian food experience as they serve a mixture of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai dishes in their own style.

Lilly’s is located in the Market Place shopping center off Rodney Parham. It is a well decorated restaurant with pictures from late 1970’s Iran hanging on the walls in the entrance. The initial appearance is one of small but elegant.

The menu offers several options for the Asian food lover. There is the standard Pad Thai which is quite good and a couple of curry and Kung Pao dishes that aren’t as spicy as they are warned to be, but tasty anyway.

The portions are large and if you didn’t bring a big appetite then you will leave with a to go box for lunch the next day, which can be a nice treat.

If you have a sweet tooth, then the Wonton Tower is a must try. Three scoops of ice cream with cinnamon, chocolate, and caramel make for a great shared dessert. If looking for something a little less large, they serve some nice flavored ice creams such as green teas that also fit in with the rest of the theme.

The service can be slow at times and you shouldn’t go when you are starving because the wait for the food can be frustrating, but if just enjoying someone else’s company or in a group with a bottle of wine, the nice atmosphere can make for good conversation and the wait won’t seem as long as it is.

A full three course meal with appetizers, entree, and desserts will likely be in the $55-65 range (no alcohol).

Lilly’s Dim Sum earns a positive overall review, with some reservations about the speed of the service, but mitigate that by going when you have some time to relax and spend it enjoying an old friend or loved one’s company.
